Whats the best Camera and lens for high res Interior photography?
I’ve been asked to produce a book on interior design. I would like to supply my own photographs for its content. These will need to be very high res and very good quality to be printable in a large book format. I have basic photography skills and a decent cannon digital (35mm) camera. I dont want to spend too much money but I think I will need at least a better lens and tripod etc, any suggestions?
You may be advised to buy a wide aperture lens ans that will let more light into the camera, which, of course, is true, but it also reduces depth of field which may be a problem.
The Nikon D3s and the Pentax K5 are the two cameras currently that have the best low light performance with the lowest noise.
The only way to avoid noise in an image taken in low light is to increase the light level, so investing in lighting and learning how to use it may be a better, and cheaper, option.
Any way you go a good tripod will be more than useful as will a remote release cable. Don’t buy a cheap tripod they are worse than useless, they sag and droop, getting them to frame the shot you want is like a dog chasing its tail, buy quality – buy once. A Manfrotto 190PROB with a 486/RC2 ball head will cost around the £100.00 mark, it will last you all your life and is about as cheap as I would go.
