Digital Photography Archiving Software

digital photography archiving software
what is the best way to Archive Digital Photographs?

I am a young photographer in Portraiture and Fashion. I was wondering what is the best method in archiving and saving my digital photographs. I currently use a Nikon and work with photoshop CS4. When i save my images i use the psd. or tiff. format. With photo software rapidly advancing, whats the best way to archive my work??

I know i should put them all in a external Hard drive??

is there another more Professional approach to saving my photographs??

And will my psd files still be useful in 10 years??

Digital photography is easier to process than film from my experience, but its far to complicated. haha

The vast majority of “serious” photographers with digital files archive them on external drives. Often in a Raid configuration so they have an automatic copy in case of the failure of one of the drives.

I archive the RAW files and an edit normally in .tif format.
