Photography History Essay?
(thank you in advance for any help given).
[Part 1] Discuss the power of photography prior to the introduction of digital photography.
[Part2] Assess whether the credibility of media has been comprimised by the evolution of this medium.
Yes, I have done some research myself but am gathering viewpoints or notes on the subject (not smarmy remarks) which is a legitimate way to go about gathering information for writing an essay. Thankyou to those who actually answered the question.
Photography’s role has been to give people a view into a world they have never seen. Take for example the dead civil war soldiers. Few people ever knew what a battlefield looked like until photos were taken of them. The camera went to war, to space, under the seas in an effort to give people glimpses of unknown things. Before digital it took quite abit to fake a photo and so the cameras eyecoldly and with out compassion recorded life, death, and everything in between.
Yes, I believe the crediblity of the media as a whole is suspect. When I look at an amazing photo I wonder how much of it to believe. Is it real or has it been photo shopped.
Digital has done more harm than good.
