Do i have a chance at NYU or Holy Cross?
I was born in Eastern Europe,
I go to a private college prep school in CT
3.6 GPA (school does not weigh AP/honors courses)
I am currently taking AP Chem, Physics, Honors Spanish IV, Differential Calc, American Theater (english), Digital Imaging and photography and will be taking economics during the 2nd semester
Sat Scores;
SAT 1: 650 writing, 600 math 630 reading (I will take them again in October after doing some SAT Prep)
Sat 2:
750 US history, 710 Math 1, 640 World history (took in 9th grade)
I play varsity golf, varsity tennis, JV Basketball,
Former treasurer of class, chess club, habitat for humanity
I have volunteered over 200 hours in the U.S. and abroad
I am trilingual.
Yes, I would say you have a decent chance at both.
NYU’s average GPA is 3.6, so you’re good there. Their average SAT is 1870-2140, so you JUST make it their…I would really try to bring that up. SAT Prep should help (I recommend princeton review or kaplan, my score went up 200 points…).
Holy Cross’s doesn’t release average GPA, but I would expect yours to be somewhere in their range. Their average SAT is 1850-2050 so I would say the same thing about SAT here as I would for NYU.
Basically you have decent chances at both, but you’re not really an automatically-in or anything, although being born in eastern europe/being trilingual will help you if you play it up.
