Suitable lenses for a Nikon F-801s 35mm film camera?
I am a user of several digital cameras but decided recently for old times sake to remove my Nikon F-801s from storage where it has languished since virtually new (used twice only.) I would like to use it as an adjunct to digital photography. The problem is that most of the lenses I had for it have fungal growth on the lens coatings thus rendering them unusable. Can any knowledgeable person out there advise me if there are any currently available lenses (new from any manufacturer) in the focal range 70-300mm or so that would have full compatibility ie. auto focus and P,A,S,M modes. I’ve found that all the information that I have gleaned on this subject very confusing

Your F-801 (or N8008 in the USA) is compatible with almost all Nikon mount lenses, with the exception of the “G” series, as they do not have an aperture ring.

I currently use a sharp Nikon 75-300mm that I got from my local Craigslist, though I’ve seen many of them on Ebay as well.
The Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED AF Nikkor will work fine on your camera, as will equivalent optics from Sigma, Tamron, and the like.
