Which camera kit would be better for me?
I’m currently branching into photography from using a point and shoot and I really want a very high quality camera which I can grow with and will last me for years. As I’m only 16 now, I don’t want something overly confusing but I am studying photography next year as an A Level so I want to be able to replicate the thing I do on the course with my own camera.
I’m really interested in portrait photography, as well as macro photography although I plan to buy a macro lens for this, so I need a camera which will be good for this as well as for general use at home etc.
After some research, I’ve got to a Nikon D7000. My question is, which lens kit would be better? The price isn’t really an option as I have received a grant for the purpose.
Nikon D7000 Digital SLR 18-105mm VR Lens Kit
Nikon D7000 Digital SLR 18-200 VR II Lens Kit

Any other suggestions are also welcome!
As you can probably guess, the 18-200 mm lens will give you more reach.
If you think you will be shooting any video with your D7000, the 18-200 mm lens is going to provide more options.
Here are three samples using the 18-200 mm lens

Here is a sample video shot by a pro on Seattle.
At the end, there is a list of the lenses used on the D7000 to make that video
Enjoy your new camera
