To what extent has the digital camera impacted on photography?
To what extent do you think the growth and use of digital media and communication tools has impacted on the area of photography as a media profession?
Digital has impacted massively. Kodak and Ilford film production alone shows the impact, they have reduced their output hugely.
At one time pros wouldn’t consider digital. Now you would have a hard time finding a pro who doesn’t at least use digital for set ups if not for the full shoot.
I only use digital now and along with some decent software it has revolutionised the industry.
True what previous poster said, anyone can now think they are a photographer but the reality is that the best shots are not about the camera but the person behind it.
A good analogy is Lance Armstrongs phrase “it’s not about the bike”
That’s about right, buying a good bike won’t make you into a Lance Armstrong beater, similarly a good camera in bad hands will give bad results, it always has, it always will.
Well that’s my 2 cents
Adding impact to your black and white images
