I’m stuck! Please help!?
I’m doing this photography course and there’s 10 questions. I’ve done all but the 8th any help will be greatly appreciated.
Here’s the main question:
For each of the following photographic assignments, describe the lens, attachments and filters you would use. Assume that you are shooting on a small format SLR digital camera with a full size 35mm sensor and have only the following lenses: 20mm, 28mm shift, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 100mm macro, 135mm, 300mm. Please nominate the lens or lenses chosen and give a brief explanation of why you made the choices you did.
Q8. An advertising agency has asked for submissions to photograph a new Alessi juicer, which has been designed by an Italian design team and has won several prestigious design awards. The juicer looks like a brushed aluminium spaceship and they want a dramatic shot to emphasize its design.
I’m thinking 35mm but I’m having troubling explaining why I’d use that one. :S
28mm shift.
This gives you a relatively wide angle which will enable you to get close to emphasise the shape and design and the shift lens means you will get the correct perspective and focus on the object.
For product photography you need to ensure that the perspective is correct and that as much as possible is in sharp focus which is what the shift lens will do for you.
