Please help with digital photography?
I have a Panasonic Lumix LX30, it takes very nice photos in sunlight outdoors but indoors the quality is variable. Some photos are quite nice but some are grainy for no reason that I can understand. Especially photos taken in my living room, these never turn out satisfactorily. I suspect this is something to do with my camera setting, ISO sensitivity, Whiteness, anti-blur etc., but so far I have not been able to solve this problem.
Kindly have a look at my sample photos here – http://tuinui1.blogspot.com/ – and advise.
Thank you.
The graininess is most likely coming from the ISO speed being set too high.
On digital point and click cameras, they usually always try to maintain shutter speed so as to eliminate camera shake and blurring/streaking. The easiest way to fix this is to bump up the ISO speed, but that introduces digital ‘noise’.
The way to fix the problem is either fiddle with the settings if you can, and don’t let the ISO speed go above 200 or 400, Or just get more light on the subject – with a flash, or put the subject near a window etc…
