Best SLR for the money?
Hi there, I’m looking to purchase my very first digital SLR camera and start learning about photography. I have 2 Canon elf point and shoots, but no real experience with SLR’s. I have spent countless hours reading and researching online and I am at a loss as to what SLR would best suit my needs. I’m looking for the best camera within my budget (up to 700) that will allow me to take professional looking and artistic photos of my family. I can’t take a class but have purchased photography books, now to pick out my camera! Any help, advice, recommendations are GREATLY appreciated! Thanks and have a great day!
Mister-D, commen sense tells me to only answer questions when I can be helpful and not rude or unnecessarily condenscending. At any rate, thanks for the laugh and midol does wonders! Good luck with that! I was obviously looking for opinions of others (or I wouldn’t have asked) and everyone helped alot! Thanks guys!!
A great camera that is very much worth the money is the Canon Rebel XS. It is simple to use, and although there are more complicated controls for people who choose to use them, they are not necessary whatsoever. It takes beautiful, sharp images, and is amazing for portraits. It is easy to master and is not overwhelming. You can find it online for prices as low as $400.
Here are a few pictures I’ve taken with mine:
